I'm sitting here sobbing. I did not know him but I fell in love with him reading your essay. And - knowing the darkness of depression and its devastation of so many young people - it's unbearable. His note to you was unlike so many - who are unable to stay connected when they "exit." He never gave up the connection, even then.
